1st Solo [video]

[In the darkness, a hunched figure appears near the fountain and the sound of a cello echoes over the network. The playing is precise and haunting, executed flawlessly until a single note is missed, then two, then there’s the sound of the bow being dropped and a scrape as the chair falls backward and the tall figure unfolds upwards, finally realizing that he's not where he was when he started the song.]

Saya?

[He looks around, movements as measured and precise as the music as the cello is packed away hastily. The figure stands again, turning, a pale, concerned face finally coming into view.]

SAYA! ANSWER ME! …Saya?

[He starts off in a direction, intent on something. Someone should stop probably him.]

[ooc: Pretend this is happening tonight, and just posted now because it's easier, okay?]

So very many men looking for their women lately.

[He pauses. Another voice? He almost doesn't reply, the device in his hand is still strange to him, but he figures Saya would like him to be polite at least.]

Have there been kidnappings here?

[identity profile] unweighty.livejournal.com 2011-08-14 06:10 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, no, not at all. None that I'm aware of, at the very least. A thing like that- it'd be all over the network. Crying boys and frightened girls - no. We've just got a few new citizens who know how to court, I suppose.

[identity profile] whithersoevergo.livejournal.com 2011-08-14 06:12 am (UTC)(link)
[Network. Citizens. What is this place?]

I... see. This is an emergency network of some sort?

[identity profile] unweighty.livejournal.com 2011-08-14 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
If you use this only during emergencies, you'll find yourself lost quite quickly. A lifeline, you could say. The only thread connecting you to the faceless other prisoners who've found their way here.

--a social tool. I'd use it very often.

[identity profile] whithersoevergo.livejournal.com 2011-08-14 06:21 am (UTC)(link)
[He has to think about this for a long time, because while he's familiar with the idea of computers and cell phones, he's never had use for them.]

Like an open telephone line?

[identity profile] whithersoevergo.livejournal.com 2011-08-14 06:32 am (UTC)(link)
With video transmission. Via satellite?

[He's heard a great deal about satellite transmissions as they have been preparing to block Diva's concert. How is he going to get back for that? How is he going to get Saya back for that?]

[identity profile] unweighty.livejournal.com 2011-08-16 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
Satellite? I suppose- but the barriers only go so far and gravity can only let go so much.

[identity profile] whithersoevergo.livejournal.com 2011-08-16 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
Barriers?

[He's not talkative, but the question is clear. What barriers, what does he have to destroy to get Saya home?]

[identity profile] unweighty.livejournal.com 2011-08-18 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
The barrier. It contains and it prevents. Protects and confines. It is a blessing and a curse- what to do with it indeed.

Something that I advise against tampering with.

[identity profile] whithersoevergo.livejournal.com 2011-08-21 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
I see. It is powerful? Or is it protected?

[identity profile] unweighty.livejournal.com 2011-08-21 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Powerful, I suppose. But interfering with its duties may produce unfavorable results.

[identity profile] unweighty.livejournal.com 2011-08-22 05:17 am (UTC)(link)
Strange worlds... strange creatures... all very unpleasant. Does it excite your curiosity? You know what they say about that. The only cure for stupidity is death, and that is precisely why curiosity killed the cat.

[identity profile] whithersoevergo.livejournal.com 2011-08-22 05:34 am (UTC)(link)
Not curiosity. Just looking at the possibilities.
